Veggie Plots & Pots

I finely got out and turned my veggie Plots. They have been covered In “White Nancy” (?) and or wild pea.  They reseed themselves, keeps the weed down and look pretty in the California late winter.  When they start to fade I know its time to till136_1688

Not much look at now; but seeded with radishes, lettuce, and chard.136_1691

But how do you like my wire bed frame for my peas and green beans?

And pot for carrots.

Here’s the video I got the idea from.  Love his heavy on the pots garden.

Oh, and the crooked path to my compost bins.  *:)

Poor covered Peacock.  The wild pea just goes crazy.

Lent of No Sugar. Day 3, 4, & 5

It seems I am an all or nothing girl.

Last year I gave up chocolate and that just sent me finding other sweets to eat. I really settled on cookies. Lot s of cookies were consumed in the 45 days.

Abstaining from sugar in all it form is easy so far. And I kinda think it will continue to be. At six days now I would think I would start obsessing a little to much about sweet things, but no. I did have one of the “cookies” I baked on the 14th, today after a bike ride today. But that’s why I made them. (tasty but DRY)

And so you know, I tent to be ridiculously rebellious, so now that I have stated it’s a non issue my crazy brain my start making all kinds of sugary sweet suggestions.  *:)

Happy Valentines Day!  I got a pleasant surprise of the Skyrim’s downloadable content!

Yesterday was easy as pie. And I did not have pie, or any other sugar laden items. I also easily have not eaten anything sugar laden today.  *:)

I actually got a lot done yesterday and was hopping this was due to no sugar crash. Today was not a productive. I did plan on a bike ride, but my tire was flat. The pump is on hubby’s bike which was with him at work.

And now you know how long it’s been since I rode my bike.

I attempted to alter a simply peanut butter cookie recipe.

Original recipe

1c peanut butter

1c sugar

Turns out oatmeal is not a good substitute for sugar.

Giving up Sugar for Lent

No, I’m not catholic, but I like the amount of time, and the limit of lent.

Day one: 8AM So far so good.

I chose sugar this year to run a simple test. It has been connected to inflammation. I have achy joints, and a knee still un-swelling for a Arthroscopic repair.

I also like many people would love to get rid of some extra pounds.  Giving up sugar can’t hurt that venture at all.  *:)

And it’s time to stop giving in to my “sweet tooth”.

So simple sugar in all it’s glory… candy, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, and I’m sure I will encounter other types do deny my self with.

What I did on my Winter vacation.

Many moons ago (19 years) Hubby and I moved to a house with popcorn.

( acoustical ceilings).

We planed to remove it when we got new carpet.  Yay! In mid January I selected this.

Then I started the work.  Now the question has been was it hard?  No. Messy?  Some what.   I scraped it into a box lid and then dumped it directly into plastic bags.  Most of my ceilings came off dry.

I only had to wet it where the tape/mud was.

Now for painting.  One coat of primer and I can still see the tape/mud lines.

So two coats of primer and I stopped taking pictures.  From here it became a few hours of panting every day till the ceiling , walls, crown molding, and base boards were done.

Finley it’s carpet laying day.

I will only say that if your one job is to measure square footage you would think “he” could have gotten it right.  Half the house got laid on a  Monday… the rest got laid the following Saturday.

Here is my entry way.  The half way point.  See the old carpet.

Yay, it’s all in.  Can you say shades of cream.

My “new” house.  From the front door.

Around to the living room.

Towards the dining room.

And from the other direction.

Aprils Hoop Move

No I did not fall off the face of the earth, and if I get into what I have been doing it would be a small novel, so I’ll jump right in with Aprils new hoop move.

Starting with Andrea!  She has been working on one leg stuff.  And since I am taking pictures of body & hoop moving I got ONE awesome shot!

Pravriti Echapadahastangustasana with a hoop!

Brianna! The Natural as  we call her.

Elbow to Elbow pass in front.   Start your hoop.

Elbow hoop.

Pass to other elbow.

Pass it back to first elbow.

With a smile!     I hope to see Elbow to Elbow pass in the back next month!

And me!  A swoopy figure 8.  (yeah, it’s a cop out)

Swoop over head

Swoop to the front

Swoop back over head

PS The Popcorn is Gone! & Others Changes coming soon.

Januarys Hoop Move!

My hoop bud’s Brianna, her sisters, Andrea, and I have been “working” on one move a month.  Well I worked on one move, they went with combo’s.

Anyway here is a bit of the results for January.

Alyssa is the Abundant Girl.  She has been spinning all the small hoops on her arms above her head.

Navaeh has mastered chest hooping.

Brianna’s combo included a lot of two hoop moves.

I have sustained knee hooping envy!

I focused on Foot Hooping.  I also went to an awesome workshop with Revolva!

Step 1: Put hoop on foot.

Step 2: Keep hoop on foot.

Step 3:  Roll onto back.

Step 4: Push up into Shoulder Stand.

Step 5: Watch as hoop slide down your leg.

Step 7: Laugh and do it again!

I am continuing to play with foot hooping.  I am discovering on chest hooping for February. And with luck (and practice) I will get my hiney over my head with a hoop on my foot in the near future.   *:)

PS I am giving up sugar for Lent.  YIKES!
